Dillsboro boasts one of the two depots of the Great Smoky Mountains Railway, with its 53 miles of track, two tunnels and 25 bridges. Travelers on the Railway can take scenic train journeys across fertile valleys, through tunnels and across river gorges, all in the Smokies.
Dillsboro, NC is an idyllic 19th century railroad town on the banks of the Tuckaseigee River in the North Carolina Smokies. It’s a walking town — just two blocks long — sprinkled with pristine white houses, rustic old shops, galleries, restaurants and quaint country inns.
